Delete index file outlook
When you upgrade from Office to Office , the application gets uninstalled no problem, but the Search Index location does not get deleted by design.
When we upgraded our Office to , it created a new "Microsoft Outlook" location in the search indexing location, but at the same time upgraded the existing OST. I found that by deleting the old mapi entries in the registry, it clears it out from indexing but then the search engine deletes almost all entries! I repaired Office, then started the programs that had entries in indexing one after the other, and the entries were recreated.
Outlook is using mapi entries, so since both are there, there are shown twice. Since Microsoft mentions this is "by design", I can only smile at this upgrade behaviour :.
