The degree requires areas of concentration rather than the traditional major and minor requirement, providing a more flexible path for degree completion but also ensuring academic rigor. The program is divided into three components: foundation or core courses, area of concentration and options.

The admission requirements for this degree program are specific to the program and therefore considerably different than other degree programs offered by the Faculty of Arts. The 3 credit hours of written English and 3 credit hours of mathematics are to satisfy the written English and mathematics requirement.
